FAQs
How do IÂ start therapy?
The first step is to contact me for a brief conversation first.
How long are the sessions?
Adult Counselling Assessment 1hr 15min
Under 16's - 50 min with Parent/ carer, 50 min with young person
Counselling Sessions are 50 minutes.

What type of counselling do you offer?
My core training is 'Person Centred' but IÂ have done lots of additional training so am able to integrate these modalities depending on your needs.
Can I sit in on the sessions with my child/teen?
I understand that for a young person the prospect of therapy can be scary. Ideally the sessions would be 1:1 but ultimately the young person needs to feel comfortable and in control, if it is their request to have another present until they feel comfortable, this is acceptable to me.
Do you share my information?
No. We will have a working agreement which outlines confidentiality and it limitations. This will be agreed upon prior to work commencing.
Do IÂ need a referral from my Doctor?
No. This service is private, you are able to refer yourself.
My child is due to take their exams, are you able to write a supporting document for access arrangements?
Once needs have been accessed (typically 4 sessions) IÂ am happy to write a letter to school to support their request.
Is there a fee for writing letters to school or GP?
Yes, letters are charged at session rate.
